Video is marketing’s powerhouse – seeing really is believing


Perhaps you’ve noticed that everyone is now making and uploading videos from mini-ads to testimonials, speeches, how-to and don’t-go videos. Pictures obviously speak louder than words and foodies, politicians, surf instructors, travellers and realtors are all well ahead of this game, showing us what to eat, vote, do, see, buy and aspire to in well-edited vignettes, or even shakily filmed selfies. It’s more than a passing trend and it’s making me question my own professional services business and how video might make life easier for me and for clients.

In September 2015, the stat was that a staggering 8 billion videos were being played per day just on Facebook. YouTube has over 1 billion users worldwide and Vines has 40 million users. Vidyard and research firm Demand Metric have revealed some fantastic facts, e.g. 72% of B2B marketers agree that video now convinces people more than any other type of content. To top off the hype, Cisco released their updated VNI (Visual Networking Index) forecast 2014 – 2019, predicting that 80% of all information online will be video by 2019, jumping from 67% in 2014.

In short, NOW is the time to explore tools that may help you join the movie making business…are you ready for your close-up?
